International Students from CUPB Achieved Great Results in the 12th China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition
On May 29, the China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition, which lasted for more than nine months, ended at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). 68 experts from China National Petroleum Corporation, Sinopec Group, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. and Schlumberger formed 12 expert groups, and the finalists were selected for the national finals. 11 international track works, 9 software development works and 88 scheme design works were reviewed.
Affected by the epidemic, this competition was held online. In the evaluation session of the international track, the experts scored the contestants' written works and online defense respectively. The team of the international students of CUPB achieved good results. Among them, the PetroGreen team with 2020 Oil and Gas Field Development Engineering master student MUSAB ABUBAKER MOHAMED SULIMAN from Sudan won the National Special Prize. ABAL-HASSAN FADHULI SAID ABDILLAH DJAMALILLAIL, a 2021 Oil And Gas Field Development Engineering master student from Comoros, as the leader of the heatwave team, led the team to win the National First Prize. The Explorers team with 2021 oil And Gas Field Development Engineering master student OLIVEIRA ADILSON JULIO SOARES DE from Angola won the National Second Prize.
As the "Olympic" of petroleum education, China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition aims to train and improve students' ability to solve complex engineering problems, and to cultivate outstanding petroleum engineers of scientific and technological innovation, engineering practice and teamwork to meet the needs of social development. This competition has created a big stage for academic exchanges of students majoring in petroleum from all over the country and even the world.
