Brief Bio
Chenglin Gong obtained his PhD degree in sedimentology and stratigraphy in 2014 from the China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and then joined the Jackson School of Geosciences of the University of Texas at Austin where he works with Professor Ronald J. Steel as apost-doctoralResearch Fellow from 2014 to 2017.He is now an A/professor in sedimentology and stratigraphy at the Department of Geosciences of the China University of Petroleum (Beijing).

Industry Experience
All of my academic research has been collectively funded by the petroleum industry, which has provided me with opportunities to interact and collaborate with researchers in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, I completed my master’s theses and doctoral dissertation in CNOOC, PetroChina and SINOPEC totaling more than 3 years with industry patterns. Lastly, I worked for the Beijing Huayoumingxin Energy Technology Co., Ltd as a principal sedimentologistfor nearly one year. I, therefore, have strong industry experience.
